Prometheus Transmedia Campaign
Our campaign couldn’t talk about Xenomorphs. It actually couldn’t mention anything from Ridley Scott’s canon, which was pretty daunting considering that pretty much all of the cultural equity contained within Prometheus had to do with the Alien franchise; unfortunately for us, all of that stuff was hidden. Pretty much the only thing we were permitted to build around was the Weyland Corporation.
So that’s what we did - built out a corporate presence for a notoriously mercenary company. We enlisted the agency’s finance team to help us model out stock prices. We made business cards and passed them out at conventions. We created a corporate recruiter and hit up tech folks on LinkedIn (who were NOT pleased about this - they actually forced our ECD to promise never to do anything like that again, an assurance he gave while grinning like the Cheshire Cat). And everything led back to content unlocks, interactive experiences, and intensely nuanced references; it’s probably my only chance to flex my knowledge of the WOW! Signal that I’ll ever get in my career.
